Emily Lavender’s Specialty Classes Spring Series

4/29- Hips

While a hip opening posture may feel intense in the moment, you always feel so much better afterwards! Practice starts with a heat building, hip & thigh opening sun salutation sequence, then moves into a series of hip openers where you will spend time breaking down and exploring the postures deeper.

5/13- Arm Balances

This flow class will incorporate techniques in standing poses that will directly apply to the upcoming arm balance. Several arm balances will be incorporated into class, with more and less advanced modifications. We keep fluid movement in this practice while learning and preparing our body for the next step.

5/20- Backbends

In this class we will go over techniques that will bring joy and ease to your back bending practice. Those that are less flexible will focus on techniques to unlock tension. Those that have an established back bending practice will be able to take themselves to a whole new level using precision in their approach

5/27- Inversions

The inverted postures of yoga are some of the most beneficial of the asanas. We will play with headstand, forearm stand, handstand, and more. You will be guided through alignment, technique, proper modifications, and feel how to develop the power in your core strength. Learn to use the wall, or a buddy, as a way to continue practicing inversions beyond this class. Let go of the fear, we are here to support!
