Exploring Yin – A Series with Sandy Swinhart
Tuesdays, June 3, 10, 17 | 7:15 PM:
Yin Yoga is a slow, grounding practice where students hold floor-based poses for extended periods (usually 3-5 minutes or more). Unlike more active (yang) styles, Yin focuses on the deeper layers of the body—fascia, joints, and connective tissue—by staying still and allowing time to release. This meditative practice helps calm the nervous system, release tension, and reconnect with your inner self in a deeply nourishing way.
In this 3-week series, you'll explore:
The 3 Principles of Yin
The difference between Yin and Restorative Yoga
How to navigate tension vs. compression in poses
Anchors to hold a pose and variations for your body
